Practice Boundary

Our practice boundary is illustrated below in map form.

  • The green line represents our inner boundary. Any people living within this are fully entitled to register at our practice.
  • The purple line represents our outer boundary. Any currently registered patients who move into this outer boundary area from the inner boundary can stay registered with the surgery.

I live out of the outer boundary but want to stay registered with you what are the rules?

We recommend that patients re-register with another local practice if you move outside of our outer boundary. However, if you wish to stay with us then we will ask your registered GP to take into account your current health status and decide whether you can stay on the condition of receiving no home visits.

You may on occasion, develop an urgent illness or injury at home that means attending our GP surgery as normal would not be appropriate or possible. If you have decided to stay registered with us as an out of area patient, you will need to contact the NHS’s Out of Hours team by calling 111.

In these circumstances, NHS 111 will direct you to the local service that has been established by NHS England for patients such as you. This local service could be a GP practice near to where you live, the local walk-in or urgent care centre, A&E or minor injuries unit.

This local service will then decide if you can attend for an urgent face to face appointment with a healthcare professional or if a home visit is needed which will be based on your individual circumstances.

If this is in the out-of-hours period when GP surgeries are normally closed – between 6:30pm and 8:00am weekdays and during weekends – NHS 111 will direct you to the local out-of-hours’ provider.

Please note that if your health care needs change and it becomes likely that you’ll need visits from district nurses or GPs regularly then we would strongly advise that you re-register with a local GP surgery for your own safety.

Furthermore, please inform our team of what pharmacy you would like your prescriptions to be sent to. We will do our best to send these prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice electronically, but we cannot guarantee that you will always be able to collect a prescription immediately from a pharmacy outside of our catchment area – on some occasions you may need to collect from us.
